Fabulous Faith's Foundation donates new cooktops to Ronald McDonald House

November 13,2017
We're so excited to announce that we have been able to supply the Ronald McDonald House with 8 new cooktops. We had originally purchased 4, but with your generous donations we were able to purchase an additional 4 today! The 8 Bone Marrow Suites at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth recently went
through a renovation including installing new cooktops. These suites are used to house patients that have a compromised immune system or have gone through a bone marrow transplant.

It has been such a blessing to be able to partner with this organization and to provide something so critical for these families. Thank you for your continued commitment to Fabulous Faith's Foundation, with your help we ARE making a difference!

Dr. Kasey Leger Seattle Children's Hospital

Our precious Faith spent a month at Seattle Children's Hospital where she had her limb sparing surgery, and although it's not our home hospital, this institution will always have a special place in our hearts. Ken and I had the privilege to visit Seattle Children's Hospital recently and met with hospital staff, including Dr. Kasey Leger
, whose research Fabulous Faith's Foundation has been able to help fund. We are especially interested in this research as it involves ways to prevent cardio toxicity due to chemotherapy, exactly what happened to our Faith. Dr. Leger has made the included video so you can hear from her specially where your donated research money is going. Help us to continue to fund critical research like Dr. Leger's by donating, or signing up for the Fabulous Faith 5K at fabulousfaithsfoundation.org

3rd Annual Fabulous Faith 5k & Fun Run

September 23,2017
The Fabulous Faith 5K supports Fabulous Faith’s Foundation, (FFF), in their fight against childhood cancer. Fabulous Faith’s Foundation provides funding to pediatric cancer research and treatment facilities, and grants financial support to affected families, while promoting awareness and hope that a cure will be found. The foundation was created in honor of 10 year old Faith Rose Lautzenheiser who bravely fought osteosarcoma, before taking her journey to heaven. FFF strives to honor Faith’s legacy while praying for the day when no child has to hear - You have cancer.

Cook Children's Medical Center Promise Luncheon

Cook Children's Check Presentation

September 15, 2017
Yesterday we had the privilege of donating a total of $15,000 to Cook Children's Medical Center!! $5000 will be used to support the Child Life Program in the Hematology/Oncology Department. This group was so critical in Faith's cancer journey and has been significant in the journey of so many others as well.
Since a cancer journey is usually lengthy, these individuals have a unique opportunity to bond with their patients. They do such a great job of being a calming voice d...uring procedures, and reminding the kids to just be kids. Faith covered them with silly string, bubbles, water and most of all love. And they loved her back. Super excited to be able to provide funding for their critical mission.

$10,000 was given to the Solid Tumor Research Program. The goal of the program is to improve patient survival while limiting toxicity related to treatment in cancers such as osteosarcoma and Wilms Tumor, among others. 4 cents of every federally funded research dollar goes to childhood cancer, the other 96 cents goes to the adult market. Given this fact, it's up to foundations like FFF to raise the money to try to fill the funding gap for research. Funding critical research is so crucial as we hope for the day when no child has to hear -"You have cancer." Thank you for your continued contributions, only with your help can we continue fighting for kids and their families, support facilities, and fund much needed research.

Cook Children's Medical Center Promise Luncheon

Cook Children's Medical Center Promise Luncheon

April 21,2017
I had the best looking date at the Cook Children's Medical Center Promise Luncheon yesterday. I'm so thankful I was able to spend some time with Drew since eating lunch with him is a rarity. My oldest, attending college in hopes of becoming a pediatric oncologist, in honor of his sister. My child who has chosen to grow out his hair so he can donate his beautiful locks to other children. I sure admire his heart.
This is an annual luncheon hosted by the hospital to raise funds for the Hematology/Oncology department, and my second one to attend. It was great to visit with the hospital staff and I even got to say hello to our friends from Kendra Scott who were also in attendance. The agenda is usually lunch and speakers. As we were eating a video was shown of two families that have been oncology patients. One was a survivor story, the other was not. On the video when the mother of the second child starting crying and stated that her baby had passed away, I had to leave the table and go to the restroom to compose myself. While there I kept thinking...What am I doing here? I know how this goes. It's the reality of childhood cancer and I live with it everyday. Why can't I just sit there? I guess the answer is because I don't want anyone to know this pain, and I was just shown another family that now has unwanted membership into this club.

As I was standing at the sink trying to get myself together, I found myself thinking of my son at that table. I knew if he was able to get in that restroom he would be there checking on me. The door opened and one of the hospital foundation employees entered. I looked over at her and she said, "I looked at your table and saw that you were missing so I came to check on you." She came over and hugged me and we both cried. I gathered my thoughts, pulled myself together and we walked back out to our respective tables. This is a perfect example of why this hospital will always be in my heart. This is not anyone that took care of Faith, just someone that has heard the stories of her. Someone sitting at a different table that looked for me, out of 300 people, on purpose. Someone that cared enough to leave their lunch and the program to come find me. This is why I love Cook Children's, it's the people. And this is why Faith loves it too.

Check Presentation to Ronald McDonald House

Check Presentation to The Ronald McDonalds House

December 22,2016
Today we were privileged enough to be able to present a check to Angie Gallaway, Chief Development Officer, of the Fort Worth Ronald McDonald House, to aid with the remodeling of their bone marrow suites.
Today we were privileged enough to be able to present a check to Angie Gallaway, Chief Development Officer, of the Fort Worth Ronald McDonald House, to aid with the remodeling of their bone marrow suites. Bone marrow suites are used for patients that recently had a bone marrow transplant, patients whose immune systems have been severely compromised, and patients based on length of stay. Fabulous Faith's Foundation provided funds that will be used to purchase new cooktops for some of these suites. (These suites are equipped with a full kitchen.) Faith stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Seattle during a portion of her journey, and this organization has a special place in our hearts. As a family going through a cancer journey it is so comforting to have a place to stay while in and out of hospital admissions. In addition, Faith's best friend from the hospital, Cameron, stayed at RMH in Fort Worth during his treatment. We are honored to say that the bone marrow suite that he stayed in, will be one of the rooms where we will be furnishing a new cooktop.

Thank you so much for your continued support of Fabulous Faith's Foundation. With your help we can continue to fill the need of so many families that have been impacted by childhood cancer. May God continue to bless all of you for your selfless giving. Together we're making a difference!

2nd Annual Fabulous Faith Foundation 5K

2nd Annual Fabulous Faith 5K & Fun Run

September 24,2016
The Fabulous Faith 5K supports the Child Life Specialists in the Hematology/Oncology Department at Cook Children's. The Child Life Specialists were so important to Faith because they provided her with toys, games, allowed her to pull pranks on them, loved her unconditionally, and were a calming voice during many procedures. Mainly, they encouraged her to focus on being a kid, and not focus on her illness. We are forever in their debt, and want to ensure that other children benefit from their services.
